Yesterday was the first day of the HCC Congress, during which activities of the PTA and the Asthma Treatment Coalition took place: prof. In the session on e-health, M. Kupczyk presented the assumptions of the e-prescription 2.0 Asthma project, in the discussion panel on biological treatment in asthma, our experts, practitioners and decision-makers discussed opportunities and barriers in the development of this form of therapy, during Hyde Park, event participants could learn about the works presented by prof. R. Gawlik and A. Ben Drissi principles of management in anaphylaxis and our postulates in this matter.

This year, June 18-24 is World Allergy Week. On this occasion, in cooperation with the Allergy Zone, we have prepared a solid dose of knowledge, curiosities, advice and meetings:

• Webinars with experts, during which you will be able to ask questions and share your doubts.
• Interviews with outstanding experts.
• And many other practical information.

On December 20, the last meeting of the Presidium of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment took place online this year.

During the meeting, the following were presented and discussed:

• progress on the introduction of e-prescription 2.0,
• prepared by experts “Standards of diagnosis and treatment of asthma in children and adults”,
• the Report “Life with severe asthma” carried out as part of the Coalition,
• summary of the Coalition’s activities in 2022 and plans for 2023.

On September 28, the 4th meeting of the Presidium of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment was held in Warsaw. The special guest of the event was prof. Jean Bousquet, who presented an international project to digitize asthma treatment.

Other topics discussed during the meeting were:

• the situation of patients with asthma,
• preparation of asthma treatment guidelines for POZ,
• Coalition participation in international bodies,
• talks with decision-makers on improving therapy and diagnostics.

On May 25, the 3rd meeting of the Presidium of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment was held in Toruń. In the group of experts and partners of the Coalition, we discussed topics such as:

• media activity of the Coalition,
• e-prescription 2.0 implementation plans for patients with asthma,
• mobile application for people with asthma,
• preparation of asthma treatment guidelines in Polish

Asthma – a model of diagnosis and treatment is the title of the debate organized on May 10, together with the Rzeczpospolita daily, by the Polish Society of Allergology and the Coalition for Asthma Treatment. In the hybrid model, among clinicians and experts in the health care system, incl. Intersectoral gaps in the care of patients with asthma were identified and discussed, scenarios were designed to correct these gaps, issues related to the support provided by new technologies to health care and the role of education in the process of treating patients with asthma were discussed.

What causes asthma to develop? Can you avoid its heavy form? Are global standards of treatment of this common civilization disease available to Polish patients? In connection with the World Asthma Day, these current problems and ways to solve them were presented during the workshop for journalists under the patronage of the Polish Society of Allergology and the Coalition for Asthma Treatment.

March 15 this year. there was a press briefing entitled Save or wait? As we have already mentioned many times, so far there is no legal regulation clearly defining how an employee of a school or kindergarten should behave in the event of an anaphylactic shock or an asthma attack in a child located in an educational institution. The topic is complex and debatable. Unfortunately, one thing is for sure. In such situations, time plays a significant role, because the child’s life depends on the speed of drug administration (adrenaline – anaphylactic shock, salbutamol – asthma). At the request of the Ministry of Health, our experts developed recommendations showing the behavior patterns of an adult in the immediate vicinity of a sick child and the requirements for equipping facilities with life-saving drugs.

On February 10, the 2nd meeting of the Presidium of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment was held, which concerned a digital tool for systemic control of drug consumption by patients with asthma – e-prescription 2.0, the task of which will be to indicate to a physician overuse of SABA in therapy, summaries of talks with the Ministry of Health and the National Fund Health on the diagnosis and therapy of asthma, as well as correspondence to health care decision-makers in improving the situation of patients with asthma, a press conference on the care of children with asthma and anaphylaxis planned for March 15 in educational institutions, webinars addressed to pharmacists and specialists in severe asthma treatment , appointment of Coalition working groups.

On November 18, the first meeting of the Presidium of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment, led by the Polish Society of Allergology, took place in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by representatives of the health service, including PSA representatives, national consultants, heads of medical societies, experts from healthcare and public health organizations, representatives of patient organizations and the pharmaceutical sector.

At the initiative of the Polish Society of Allergology, the leader of the Coalition for Asthma Treatment, a press conference was held, during which the organizers and the authors of the report entitled Bronchial asthma – a new model of disease management aimed at increasing the health value, presented recommendations of systemic changes aimed at improving the quality of care for patients with asthma.
