On March 18, the Parliamentary Committee for Allergic Diseases held another meeting in the Polish Parliament. The event, led by Maja Nowak, Member of the Polish Parliament, focused on biological treatment for allergic and lifestyle diseases – particularly topics such as treatment availability and its clinical, economic, and systemic aspects.
On behalf of the PTA and the Asthma Treatment Coalition, the meeting was attended by: Prof. Marek Kulus – Chairman of the Coalition; Dr. hab. Aleksandra Kucharczyk – Chair of the PTA Biological Therapy Section.
Also participating were Prof. Karina Jahnz-Różyk – National Consultant in Allergology; Dr. hab. Piotr Dąbrowiecki – Chairman of the Polish Federation of Asthma, Allergy, and COPD Patients’ Associations; and representatives of the Ministry of Health, AOTMiT, other non-governmental organizations, and experts in related specialties. During the discussion, representatives of the PTA and the Coalition presented the allergists’ proposals for modifying and streamlining drug programs. We hope that the work of the Parliamentary Group will positively impact the wider availability of biological treatments and their appropriate funding, especially for allergic diseases.
