On the occasion of World Asthma Day 2026, the editorial team of Puls Medycyny organized a debate under the patronage of the Polish Society of Allergology and the Strefa Alergii website, entitled “Asthma as a civilizational challenge. From education and prevention to modern treatment standards in the B.44 program.”
The event was attended by distinguished experts and practitioners in the field of asthma diagnosis and treatment:
- Prof. Karina Jahnz-Różyk – national consultant in allergology and representative of the Presidium of the Asthma Treatment Coalition,
- Prof. Marek Kulus – Chairman of the Asthma Treatment Coalition,
- Dr. hab. Aleksandra Kucharczyk – Chair of the Biological Therapy Section of the Polish Asthma Treatment Association,
- Prof. Marcin Moniuszko – Member of the PTA Executive Board,
- Dr. hab. Piotr Dąbrowiecki – Member of the PTA Executive Board and representative of the Presidium of the Asthma Treatment Coalition,
Martyna Kosmal, Deputy Director of the Department of Drug Policy and Pharmacy at the Ministry of Health, also participated in the debate.
The following topics were discussed during the expert discussion:
- asthma as a lifestyle disease in adults and children,
- public awareness and education about asthma,
- access to the latest medications and therapies,
- economic and social costs of asthma,
- the role and importance of the drug program in asthma treatment, as well as its upcoming modifications.
