During the 9th Clinical Experts’ Forum of the Polish Society of Allergology, held on 17 October 2025 at 3:30 PM, a jubilee conference was organized to mark the 20th anniversary of the Polish Federation of Associations of Patients with Asthma, Allergy and COPD.
The Polish Federation of Associations of Patients with Asthma, Allergy and COPD was established in 2005 in response to the growing number of respiratory diseases and the need for better education and support for patients. The Federation brought together several patient organizations working in this field, and in the same year joined the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients’ Associations (EFA), becoming part of the European patient community.
For two decades, the Federation has been actively working to improve the quality of life of patients with asthma, allergies and COPD – representing their interests, supporting access to modern therapies, promoting prevention, and participating in national and international educational initiatives. For many years, the Federation has cooperated with the Polish Society of Allergology and the Coalition for Asthma Care, both of which granted honorary patronage to the anniversary event.
The jubilee discussion addressed topics related to the history and development of the Federation, current challenges in patient care, as well as future directions in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and obstructive diseases in Poland. It was also an opportunity for the exchange of experiences among patients, physicians and representatives of the healthcare system.
